I firmly believe that a photographer's connection to their subject is even more important than their technical skills. At least when it comes to creating not just beautiful, but emotional images. That's why I have a photographic focus on gastronomy and the world of wine. I come from the industry and therefore have a different approach, a different understanding and a different connection to people; and that's exactly what is reflected in my photos, or so I hope.

This effect is even stronger at a wedding, which is why I don't want to photograph weddings professionally. However, if you have the opportunity to accompany this day of people who are very close to you, it can become something very special. You are not an external service provider, but a friend, family and support. You laugh with them, drink with them, cry with them and celebrate with them. This allows you to capture perspectives that would hardly be possible otherwise. 

Thank you Juliane and Pascal for entrusting me with this task. Thank you to all the wonderful and beautiful people who laughed, cried, danced and supplied me with plenty of caraway schnapps in front of my camera that day. Editing a photo series has never been so emotional for me.
